The Rapture and the End of Days
Taught by CTBC Alumni Dr. Jeffrey L. Mack, Doctor of Theology
This course provides an in‑depth study of the Rapture based on Dr. Jeffrey L. Mack’s doctoral dissertation, The Rapture and the End of Days. Drawing from Scripture, historical theology, and extensive scholarly analysis, Dr. Mack examines the biblical foundations of the Rapture, its distinction from the Second Coming, and the debates surrounding its timing and nature. Students explore key passages such as 1 Thessalonians 4, 1 Corinthians 15, Daniel 12, and the prophetic narratives of Enoch and Elijah—whose “translations” Dr. Mack identifies as types of the Rapture.
Using material directly from the dissertation—including discussions on gradual versus instantaneous resurrection, the role of angelic gathering, and the theological implications of Jesus operating within a “fourth dimension”—this course equips learners to understand and articulate major eschatological positions (pre‑tribulation, mid‑tribulation, and post‑tribulation). As the manuscript states, “This paper explores the biblical meaning of the Rapture and examines contemporary views on its timing and nature.”
Students will gain a clear, structured understanding of end‑time events, prophetic symbolism, and the doctrinal significance of the Rapture within Christian theology, guided by Dr. Mack’s original research and Christ Temple Bible College’s commitment to sound biblical scholarship.
